May 18: UP IN secondhand SMOKE!

Whether you smoke cigarettes or not is a personal choice. But what about inflicting a toxic poison on others around you? Has their choice been taken away from them? The battle over secondhand smoke has become a full blown world war, hitting every legal, ethical, health, and political hot button.

But now the gloves are off: In Santa Monica, California, a law was just passed that makes smoking OUTDOORS in public areas ILLEGAL and carries a citation with a $250 fine. Outdoor smoking bans are occurring in other cities and spreading through countries like Ireland, France, and Scotland.

Sandy is honored to host Ms. Paula Rockenstein, the attorney and Consumer Affairs Specialist who co-wrote the new law, to help thrash out the pros and cons of smokers’ rights vs those who do not wish to inhale.
